What's Happening

Hello everybody, Baleia here. To give you an idea about what's happening with the team I will come on here to add updates from time to time.

Bryan Edge (Team Joslin) will be competing in his 2nd Mixed Martial Arts fight this coming weekend out in Nova Scotia, in the E.C.C. event. Bryan has been training very hard at 'the barn' as well as at Joslin's with Jeff, Gavin and the rest of the team. I will post results from his fight as soon as I hear, so stay tuned.

Joslin's/INFERNO MMA Camp 2006 will be held the weekend of July 28-30. Contact PJ O'Sullivan for more info (infernommacamp@hotmail.com). The camp will give you a chance to learn the latest techniques in BJJ, submission wrestling, kickboxing, muay thai, boxing, and MMA!

Team Joslin members Andy Kwan, Shannon Konvaitis and myself will be venturing to Brazil this summer. We will be attending the ALLIANCE BJJ CAMP in beautiful Buzios, Brazil. The camp is amazing and I'm very glad I have some more guys from the team this year. After the camp I will be staying in Rio to check out the BJJ World Championships, then venturing to the Amazonas to visit my girl friend's family and, of course, to train! I can't wait. And don't worry, I will have lots of pictures for you guys.

Site Launched!

Welcome to the official website of Alliance Canada. At the time of this writing the finishing touches are being put into place, but this is only the first phase of construction. I still see many additions and changes and ways to improve the site, you just have only so many hours in a day.

The latest news about the Alliance Team will appear in this column on the main page, with entries by myself and Riccardo Ammendolia. Ric's own Grappling Invitational will kick off later today in Toronto. Check out Ontario Grappling for info about the event. Alliance Canada's own Greg Chadd will be facing Jonathon Lee.

Browse the site and give me some feedback in the Forums, affectionately titled The Basement. Dragan has a room in his own basement which he's lined with mats. It's a deep dark dungeon which gives me nightmares when I think of the crazy training he's put me through within its walls. But it's also a place where we've had countless post training discussions about grappling, techniques, fighting in general, people, places, things, cheesy kung fu movies, world domination, and just about anything. The basement gives me power.

From Jacare in Atlanta and the representatives in countries around the world, to our own little corner, united, there is a flow of knowledge that doesn’t exist if we were isolated.

The Multimedia section will always be expanding. For now you can find Jeff Joslin's highlight video, a Rumina Sato vid I made a couple years ago, and a handfull of wallpapers based on the photoshoot of May 5, 6, and 7. The banner of this page includes everyone who participated.

I want to thank everyone who had a hand in bringing this site to life. I don't know much when it comes to the technical aspects of designing a site, so I have to specifically thank Ben Kane, my friend, who has been as dedicated as I have trying to create this place.
