We had a major success at the Grappling Industries tournament in Toronto on August 8th! We had 5 competitors and from that we got an amazing 7 medals.
Here are the results:
Mabushir – silver in no-gi
Marko – bronze in no-gi
David – bronze in gi, and silver in no-gi
Anna – gold in gi, another gold in no-gi, as well as a silver in the super absolute no-gi division
This is a reminder that classes are cancelled on Saturday May 16th and Monday May18th for the Victoria Day long weekend. Classes resume on Tuesday May 19th.
On May 2nd and 3rd, the 2015 Ontario Open BJJ Championship tournament took place. Congratulations to Jimmy and Ryan for winning a gold medal, and to Tony and David winning a bronze medal. Roger, Mumbashir and Steven all had some really tough matches in their divisions. Good job guys – two gold and two bronze medals! Keep training everyone!
On Saturday March 7th at Ryerson University in Toronto was the Grappling Industries tournament. We got numerous medals by our hard-working and strong competitors. Tony achieved a gold medal in the gi as well as the no-gi division, and Rob achieved a silver medal in the gi division and a gold in the no-gi division. In addition, Lamar got a gold medal in the gi division and Roger got a bronze medal in the gi division. As well, Mumbashir received a gold medal the the absolute open division. Congratulations guys! On Saturday, November 28th, 2014, in Barrie, Ontario, at the 2014 Ontario Provincial BJJ Championships, our competitors achieved numerous medals and went through some tough matches.
Kevin achieved a gold medal in his division as well as in the absolute division. Bryan achieved gold in the open division, and Kevin and Greg both got a gold medal. In addition, Rafael achieved a bronze medal and Ryan achieved a silver medal at the competition.
Overall, with 5 great competitors at the event, our team ranked 8th place in the top 10 academy rankings.
